Button Collection and WOYWW #141

WOYWW#141
While I was working on my photo assignment last week shooting  pictures of a "group or collection", I came across this great collection of buttons in Metaphor Yarns, a fiber store next to my friend's fabric shop.  I got so inspired by it that I got my button jars together to see what I had in my collection.

Another friend and I started to sort them out, and we were amazed by the variety in the jars.  As you can see, we got some sorted by color, and put some of the unusual ones together, but I have a lot more to sort.  I use them frequently on cards, and I had been wanting to glue them down on to a heart shape, similar to some I had seen in some cardmaking magazines.  This tag happened to be on the table, left over from my Tag Tuesday post, so I cut a small heart, put it on top and began to fill it with buttons.  I am planning on using little pearls to fill in some of the empty spaces.  It may not end up on this tag, it may go on a canvas, it's a work in progress.

Stop by the Stampin Ground to see other interesting work spaces.
Have a great week, would love to have you leave a comment!

  13. I store my buttons in spice jars. I don't use them all that much but I fell they are like decoration in my room as they look so pretty in their jars.

After seeing so many beautiful cards on here that use buttons, I just might be convinced to actually use some!

    Your look fab all sorted.

  15. What gorgeous button photos, Barb! I love pictures like this. I took one once of a whole lot of candles hanging on a rail - all in rainbow colours. It was my desktop wallpaper for ages.

Thanks for popping by my blog. I've just updated it with the completed butterfly project if you want to have a look - it's come out really well!! Sheba is a Black Cat Cougar cutting machine, and although she works on the same principle as the Cricut (cutter/plotter machine) she is about as different from the Cricut as University is from Play School lol!! I got her just before Christmas and she has a steep learning curve, even though I was well used to the Cricut before I got her. I wouldn't go back for all the tea in China!

    Happy belated WOYWW.
