I thought this little pair of bees by Stampendous would be cute on a Valentine, and happened to see that Stampendous is having a Bling! Challenge. Given the small images, I blinged up the card as much as I could using Stickles on the wings and antennae, and also backing the image with red glimmer paper and a gold ribbon and thread. I thought this would make a fun Valentine for a friend or just to send to someone who enjoys a whimsical card.

First workshop
Last night I had my first Stampin' Up workshop at my friend Meg's house. She invited lots of creative and crafty friends, and we had a great time working on some projects. We made this card, a small tag and a mini card. This is the card we made with a stamp from the Sale-a-bration catalog. Instead of using stamps, we colored this detailed stamp with markers, and then stamped it onto cardstock. I've included directions in the bottom of the post. Coloring with markers was new to some of the women there, and they liked that idea.

You can check out the Sale-A-Bration catalog along with the Occasions Mini catalog. There are some new fun stamps in the mini. For every $50 dollars you order in products you get to choose something free from the sale-a-bration catalog.

Smooch! and What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 138
My workspace is filled with Valentine card designs! This one is covered with smooches stamped from the SWAK stamp from Stampin' Up. I know I'll be using this stamp alot in the next few weeks.
As I was getting ready to take my photos, Mr. Tucker stopped by to check out the action. I think he likes having his picture taken, but it was hard to get a good shot without a tripod in the available light. The little rascal closes his eyes when I use a flash, so that wasn't going to work.
Here are a few more cards from my work area, I am entering both of them in the Hero Arts January contest. I tried to keep them clean and simple, with just 1 layer, so that they would be easy to duplicate. The heart stamps are from Hero Arts, and the sentiments are from Ali Edwards, and Stampin' Up.

Map to Your Heart
Map to Your Heart Challenge
Miles Between Us
Miles Between Us
I had fun playing with this retro airplane stamp last spring, and made alot of Father's Day Cards with the set it came with. I was able to find several different patterned papers in map designs to fly the plane over. When I saw the Map to Your Heart challenge on the Moxie Fab blog, I thought of that stamp right way. I paired it with a sentiment "Though Miles May Be Between Us" from one of my new stamps from Unity Stamp Company. This is what it says on the inside-
I painted the plane with my Twinkling H2O watercolors to give it a metallic look. I love those paints, and use them all the time. The banner is attached to the plane with twine. The tiny hearts are from a Stampin Up punch.

Snowman Love
When I saw this Memory Box stamp at my local scrapbook store in Northampton, I just had to buy it. I loved the simplicity of the image, and thought that it could have many different uses. It goes well with Christmas and Valentine sentiments, is the perfect size for tags, and makes a cute thank you card. I stamped it on white cardstock, colored it in a little with some markers, and highlighted the hearts with stickles. I've included a close up so that you can really see the sparkle.
I entered this card in the Crazy 4 Challenges "Monochromatic Blues" challenge this week, and the Papercrafts January Gallery Challenge, Winter Blues.

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?
What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday137
While I was looking at some blog posts today, I found an interesting papercrafting site called Stamping Ground. Every Wednesday followers post pictures and a description of what is on their workspace. It's fun to see the wide variety of workspaces, crafting interests, and organizational styles that are posted. I thought I'd put my space up this week. I have a great craft room, but spend most of my time working at the dining room table, where I can really spread things out. Usually it is a disorganized mess! I've been making Valentines to deliver to the retail stores I sell my cards at, so I have a bunch of heart themed stamps and papers around. I am taking the online card class called Clean and Simple Cards by Jennifer Maguire, and was trying out some CAS cards. My cat Tucker was snoozing right on top of a bunch of stamps, but woke up to have his picture taken.
Here is the card I was working on. I scored a few lines on the cardstock, and stamped a woodgrained heart across the card front. I tried out a new sentiment from Unity Stamps, "Love is all you need", thought that my husband would like that, since he is a big fan of the Beatles. The heart stamp is from Stampin" Up.

By the Numbers
I found some interesting paper by Pinkpaislee at my local scrapbook store that had numbers all over it, and I thought it would be perfect for the TuesdayTrigger: By the Numbers at the Moxie Fab World. Here is the inspiration photo-
such a cute quilt covered with bright colors. I had a stamp from Stampin'Up that reminded me of the quilt, so I combined that with the patterned paper to create this card.
I love the vintage hand holding the Wish Big sign, that is from the same Stampin Up set.
Supplies-
Patterned Paper-Daily Junque Numbers, Pinkpaislee
Cardstock- Riding Hood Red, Stampin Up
Stamps-Bring On the Cake, Stampin' Up

Lunar Lights Happy Wishes
I made this card using my Lawn Fawn stamp set, Lunar Lights, for the Lawnscaping Challenge # 25 Birthday. It's a fun set with lots of different shaped Japanese style lanterns on it, and it gave me a chance to use my favorite paints. The background is made with Smooch Spritz Spray, and the lantern is painted in with Luminarte Twinking H2O's. These are small pots of beautiful watercolors that have a shine to them. To finish the card off, I added a brad and gold cord, and popped the lantern up using stampin dimensionals. The lantern has a glow when you see it in person, it doesn't show up much in the photo.
I hope this brightens your day!

Batik Birds
When I first saw this Memory Box stamp, I thought it had lots of potential. I love stamps that can be used with a variety of sentiments, and this one is so versatile. I have used it for wedding, anniversary, thinking of you, and friendship cards. I'm sure it will get lots of use as Valentine's Day gets closer. I inked up the stamp with my Stampin' Up Classic Stampin' Spots and tried to give the illusion of a horizon line and sky background. The Stampin' Spots worked really well for this, since they are compact and easy to apply to small areas of the stamp. I usually make cards with several layers, but felt this worked as a clean and simple design.
Supplies
Stamps: Batik Bird, Memory Box
Word Play, Stampin' Up
Ink: Stampin' Up Classic Stampin' Spots
You can find the Stampin' Up Supplies at http://www.barbking.stampinup.net/
I thought this card would be perfect for the challenge at The Shabby Tea Room this week.
