So it's Wednesday and here is what is on my workdesk- some new stamps from a company called Local King. The owners/designers travel from one Rubber Stamp show to another and do lots of technique demonstrations. Last year I bought a few sets from them at the Heirloom Productions Stamp and Scrapbook show, and I was happy to see that they now have die cuts to go with many of their sets. I thought the dragonfly would be really pretty on a card, so it's stamped and ready to paint.
Over here you can see my new system for organizing challenge information. I wrote each challenge name and info on an index card, that way I can shuffle them around according to due dates, and compare to see if there are any similar colors or layouts so that I could combine entries. I would love to hear how you keep track of challenges if you do them. Please leave me a comment about this if you have time!
Last I wanted to show you a picture of my son and my husband. We went out to brunch on Father's Day when he was home, and when they got dressed the guys each came down in the same color shirt. They were suprised. Funny!
Lily is adorable! So dignified in this picture, or is she hunting something? Patsy from

Lily is a cutie! I love the dragonfly stamp and diecut! I'm new at the card challenge thing. I'm trying to do the ones that give about 2 weeks to do a card. That way I don't feel so pressured. Not sure what the best method would be except maybe right on a calendar. Handsome men! Valerie #36
ReplyDeleteHow nice Barb to see pics of your lovely family including the little cutie.
ReplyDeleteA friend gave me a card index tin for recipes and the lid has a slot on it for holding individual cards and typical me I never use anything for what it's really meant for, I use it for keeping my craft info like you.
Have a good week Barb.
Lynn xx
Great family shots, and Lily is cute! Happy WOYWW, Helen 33
ReplyDeleteSuch awesome pictures of Lily and the family! Love the idea of being able to have dies that fit the stamps. Have a great week. Vickie #23

Lily is beautiful. Love the dragonflies. As for challenges, I keep a list on computer in alphabetical order within each day of the week. I make a note if it's a 2 week challenge etc and also if there are restrictions for the number of entries or combining of challenges. Once it's set up it just means going to the day each day and changing the challenge. If you want more info please get in touch. Thanks for the opportunity of having a peep at your workspace - trying to make a few visits early this week! Hazel, WOYWW #87 x

Happy woyww, very organized, the whole entry card thing, I write the weeks challenges down on a scrap of paper which I then promptly lose and have to rely on my memory :( lol have fun, mark
ReplyDeleteAdorable kitty! I wish I had a system for keeping track of challenges. I mean well, but I always miss the dates. Dani22
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cat, just want a cuddle, so cute.

Hi Barb You got a great shot of the kitty and your boys! Did they change their shirts or were they happy to be twins!?
ReplyDeleteLove the Dragon fly stamps and die. That trend is getting more popular I think. Look forward to seeing him on a finished project.
I have just remembered I promised to send you something - memory of a sieve. Sorry about that - will be with you in 5!
Hugs from Helen 107
Please pop to see Angenita (89) as she could do with a WOYWW hug today (pass it on)
I think the dragonfly will be lovely on a card!
ReplyDeleteAnd such a cute kitten!
As far as challenges, I don't really have a method. I just print up a copy from the computer and have a little pile to the side of my desk when I have free time to work on one.
I do have a binder to keep track of design team work though.

Happy WOYWW. Great having a die to match a stamp. Lily the Kitten is gorgeous. Challenges - I write them down in a section of my notebook, with theme and last day for entry. If there is a sketch to follow, then I print that out and put it by my laptop. I don't do many challenges, so can easily see if they could combine with something else. I also check on Feline Playful when I have a card made to see if there are any other challenges I could enter. Ali x #61
ReplyDeletehey Barb, Lily is a cutie, and so are your husband and son! As for the challenges, I have 18 challenge blogs that I keep up with and have them all listed under 'challenge blogs" on my computer. That way I can run through them on a as need basis, being they are my regular challenges, I basically know when their challenges begin and end in my mind. I use to have to write them down but now I find it easier to just pop into the blog itself if I need to refresh what they need, or a deadline date. waving hi from the hills of North Carolina :)
ReplyDeleteHi Barb,
ReplyDeleteOh that little kittie is adorable!!! I have never participated in a challenge blog. Maybe when I retire.......
The dragonfly stamp is beautiful - the die will definitely add a nice dimension to anything you create!
Time got away from me so I didn't link up this week - but wanted to stop by and see what you've been up to!
Oh, and those are two handsome men in your life!
Hugs,
Kay
Wee LiLY is Gorgeous... love her!!! love the stamp set... lovely pic of your DH & DS.. Hugs MAY X X X#62
ReplyDeleteI only know about the Feline Playful site. I check there and print out the weeks challenges. Once my cards are made, I enter the description of the card into a bound hournal that i keep just for challenges.
ReplyDeleteI then number the challenges I am entering. I use this format:
Challenge name, close date, winners announced date.
Because i do not use the index card format, I then double check the rules as I link up my post and leave a comment.
Yeay...I use a crummy system cuz this week I entered 2 different cards to 2 different challenges...only to discover that they only allowed 1 card entry per person. Whoops!
So...I'm thinking i had better set up a system like yours!!!
Thanks for the great idea.
i also have a grandcat! i like your dragonfly stamp and the nice pic of father and son. happy WOYWW!
