Sea Turtles

 These little sea turtles are from the Sea Turtle Stampin Up set in the mini catalog.  How cute are they?  I made the ocean background by applying reinkers onto a waterproof mat, spraying with water to spread them out, and dragging the  watercolor paper through the inks.  I dried it with a heat gun and added another layer of color.  When it was all dry, I flicked on some matching flecks of colors from my markers.  The card base with made out of crumb cake cardstock stamped with the bubbles from the set in matching ink.

Oh Happy Day

 How cute is this happy rabbit from the Playing in the Rain stamp set from Stampin Up?  I used the die cuts from the coordinating set to cut out the rabbit,  and the circles are from the Stylish Shapes dies.  He looks like he is having a very happy day.

Heart Owl

 This is the cutest Owl from Stampin Up's Sale-a-bration.  It's from the Adorable Owl set, and I've been having fun stamping with this.  I used an older heart shaped die set from SU, and cut the folded card base just below the fold, so that the hearts stayed together.  The blue layer went on top of that with the smaller white heart with the stamped owl image centered on it.  I  colored it in with Stampin Blends.  Fun card!

Hanging Out with You

 This cute little black cat is part of the Love Cats set by Stampin Up. This card could be a valentine or just a fun one to send to a friend. I used my stamping platform to stamp several times to get a nice, dark image. I filled in the bottom with some leaves from the Lighting the Way set. I Love That We are Friends!

 

The first set I ordered from the new Mini Catalog was the Country Bouquet Bundle with the stamp set and punch. It is so versatile! You can stamp the hearts and leaves and cut them out with the punch, or use the pattern paper to do the same thing. On this card I punched out the stamped images and attached the hearts to a deckled edge piece of paper after I stamped the "I love that we are friends" sentiment. It was mounted on Sweet Sorbet and then Balmy Blue cardstock, and then on the Country Floral Lane DSP, with a little ribbon behind it. This would be a great card for that special friend!

This sweet little scene was made with the Trees for Sale stamp set from Stampin Up.  I used a fancy fold called a Book Fold, so the card opens like a little book.  I so enjoyed making Christmas cards this season.  I hope you have a relaxing holiday!

Snow Crystal

 I am always drawn to detailed snowflake stamps and this large one, Snow Crystal,  from Stampin Up is just beautiful!  Because of it's size, it fills up the whole card front.  It's especially easy to use in my stamp platform.  I inked it in all blue and stamped once and it was perfect.    I found the cute little sentiment from the Snowman Magic set to make a simple thank you card.

Aspen Tree Dies

I love this Aspen Tree die from Stampin Up. I made a fall card with the beautiful Texture Chic background DSP and added some leaves cut from the Distressed Gold Specialty Paper, which reminds me of vintage mercury glass.

You will soon see a similar card with a Christmas theme.

After a long break from blogging, I am so happy to be back highlighting my cardmaking and papercraft projects. I'd love it if you would follow me and share this page with your friends.

The card I'm featuring today is a quick and easy one made with just 1 stamp set called Soft Seedlings. I inked it up with an orange color ink first, Pumpkin Pie, and then added the darker Cajun Craze around the edges of the leaves. Before I stamped, I blended in the darker ink with a blending brush so there were no lines where the two colors met. Simple and easy! I am really drawn to leaf images and this versatile stamp also makes a beautiful sympathy card and Thanksgiving card. I hope you enjoy it!

Must Love Watercolors

I do love watercolors, so I had to join in over at CAS-ual Fridays, where the challenge is "Must Love Watercolors".  This is a big bird, and watercolors are perfect for coloring in large spaces like this.  I used my trusty Twinkling H2O's and tried to make it look like a bluebird....I think I am longing for some spring bird visitors.  But instead we are receiving another foot of snow!

Faux Tile Technique

 

I am taking the Online Card Class- Clean and Simple Cards 4, and I tried a new technique called Faux Tiles.  The original example used a piece of 2 inch mat board, but since I didn't have any, I used a larger ArT Canvas, which has the same thickness.  I covered the front with masking tape, and using the Simon Says Stamp Fresh Daisies die, I ran it through my big shot.  After peeling away the masking paper on just the flowers,  I colored in the daisies using distress inks and a round applicator.  When they were all colored in, I peeled off the rest of the mast and inked the background in blue and let it dry well.  Then I coated the whole front with Versamark Ink and embossed it.  I gave it a second coat for some added smoothness and shine.  I love this effect!  The card front has a little gold spritz on it, and I added some gold thread behind the tile.

A Clean Slate

Wow, I took a long break from blogging,  but now I'm filled with creativity and ready to create.  I was inspired by the challenge over at Virginia's View a "Clean Slate" -

 I chose to make a clean and simple white on white card using an embossing folder and some die cut butterflies.  I couldn't resist adding some Tim Holtz glitter to bling it up a bit.  I went with a Wedding Day stamp with a swirly font to match the swirls around the butterflies.  I don't think I've ever made a white on white card before, it has a very elegant look.

Seahorse

I had the pleasure of visiting 3 beautiful beaches this summer in St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands,  Martha's Vineyard, and Ogunquit, Maine, and the visits inspired me to take out my Tim Holtz Nautical Blueprint set and make some cards.  I found some watercolors in perfect ocean shades for the seahorse, and added a little sparkle with some TH glitter.  I'm planning on sending this one off to the family I visited on the Vineyard.    I'm linking this up to Less is More, where the challenge is "Animals".

You are the Best!

The beautiful heart on this card was made with a stamp that had been inked with distress inks and then misted before it was stamped.  I used 2 die cuts on the card, a heart from Stampin Up and the "you" die from Simon Says Stamp.  This is another card inspired by the Online Card class  that was all about watercolors for stampers.  I'm linking this up to Less is More, where the challenge this week is to use die cuts, and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge blog, where anything goes!

Cultivate Love

Another card inspired by the Watercolor for Cardmakers class.  This delphinium stamp was so easy to ink up using markers.  A little spritz of water and it was ready to stamp.  I'm linking this up to Less is More where the theme is "Flowers".

Watercolor Stamping

This one layer Thank You card is another one created with inspiration from the Watercolors for Card Maker class I am taking online (see previous post for more info).  I have tried so many new techniques, and revisited some I had used before.  This card was created using distress ink and lot of misting.  I love all the depth the flower has from all the layering.  The flowers  are from a Stampin' Up set called "Too Kind", and the sentiment is from the "So Very Grateful" set.

I am adding this to the 1 Layer Thank You challenge at Less is More, and linking up to the Online Card Class gallery.

Watercolor Thanks

I took a little "blog break" and now I'm back with lots of inspiration from the Online Card Class Watercolors for Card Makers.  As soon as I read the description for this class, I knew it was perfect for me, since I love to use watercolors and distress inks on my projects.  The colored background for this card was made by stamping distress ink on an acrylic block and then misting and applying to watercolor paper.  It was one of the first techniques taught in the Online Card Class, and I love it!  I placed a Simon Says Stamp diecut with fancy handwriting over it.  It is quite large, and a perfect fit for the color blocked area.

This fits in with the Handwriting Challenge over at the Moxie Fab World.

Heart Strings
